Bala lake is breathtaking and on a clear day is stunning. The railway was a fun way too see the whole lake and the cute village at the other end! Train driver was also a delight and posed for photos!

GREAT little railway. Very scenic trip up and down the east side of Lake Bala. Lovely little steam train. All carriages socially distanced at the moment (July 2020). 15 min walk from the station into Bala at the top end. Plenty of free parking down at the other (Llanuwchllyn) end so ... best to start there. Recommended
This is a good little railway very organised but if you get on at bala be prepared for difficult parking try the sailing club nearby for breakfast Make sure you take time to visit the heritage sheds at the other end great for the enthusiast
It would be 5 stars if the price was lower. One day my family went and we payed 40 for a return ticket compared to when I went single trip which cost me 20.. Apart from that the staff were polite and kind.
Really cute railway. Would recommend booking online in advance as it does get busy. Really nice for a single or return journey. Great way to look at Bala Lake.
