This is a really great way to cross the river from Spain to Portugal or visa versa. Before the new bridge was constructed this was the only way you could cross. The ferry is small and only takes a few cars but there is still plenty of room to walk around. On the day we used the ferry it was sunny, so the views were spectacular of both Spain & Portugal. It only costs a few euros so why not use it if you are in this area instead of the bridge as it will be a different experience.

What a brilliant little ferry! 15min transit each way, a couple of euros each and you can go lunch in Spain! If your in the eastern Algarve it's a decent little trip on the train to find the ferry. Good day out.
