Chris (owner) is the nicest guy you will ever meet. My sons have been getting really into trading cards lately. We visited and my son is usually pretty shy but he opened right up to him. He went out of his way to help these local kids get the full gaming experience. And for that, I will always be grateful to Chris and his team at The Gaming Goat Austin. His philosophy is built on local community, fair prices, awesome products, availability, and top-notch knowledge, all delivered with a huge heart. This really is a local Austin gem and it has all the characteristics of a true Austin staple. I've checked out a ton of other local game shops and this is by far the best experience I have ever had, time and time again. I highly recommend The Gaming Goat Austin without reservation. I love this place! I always spend too much! All the staff I've met are amazing and knowledgeable. The ONLY thing that could make this place better would be if they could give me a \how to play\ every game I buy there in 10 minutes or less! Bought Gloomhaven; Jaws of the Lion there, the Targi expansion and a couple smaller games, one being Cat Rescue, recommended by the employee. My girls loved it and we played twice today!
Chris and Roger you guys are the best. They are always willing to check on a game, special order and contact when it arrives. The prices are lower than most internet pricing.
Only place I will purchase board games in Austin, friendly staff, competitive prices, and overall selection tops any and all shops in Austin!
