Really cute shop right off of Congress, great for gifts- local artists at reasonable prices so you can get a little wild. Unique prints, very comfortable material, custom jewelry: T-shirts telescope necklace & gold bangle. I used to have a necklace so much like this one in college and it’s made me quite nostalgic wearing something like it again. I will be visiting when I’m around

Parts and Labour us one of my favorite gift shops in Austin. It's on a very walkable street and features the work of many dear artist friends. You know those shops where you remember going in and you remember what you bought because it was such a fun quirky experience? This is that place. There are no other P&Ls, just the OG.

This shop is the essence of South Congress SoCo) district! Their clothes are very unique with excellent soft materials used, and the t-shirt game is absolutely on point. I have multiple t-shirts for here myself and also gifted many to friends. Don't forget about their fantastic art collection in the rear of the store. The mini gallery will have you mesmerized, marveled, and even mirthful with some humours pieces. I personally love all of Tim Doyle's pop culture pieces and I also love the Texas icon art on Whataburger paper bags! The owner is very friendly a s knowledgeable about all items in her store and she supports all the artists that have work in her store, and even some that dont! I strongly suggest supporting Parts & Labor, as not only is it a staple and icon of South Congress, but of all Austin!

Fantastic resource for buying wares from local artisans, have consistently come here to get gifts for friends who live here and out of town over the years. It’s easy to swing in and out of the shops on this stretch just browsing but I know my money is well spent in this store. The vibe of South Congress has started to look and feel more like shopping on 2nd Street or The Domain, but Parts and Labour feels like an authentic, worthy Austin experience to support.
