As a past member of this orchid society and a past officer of this orchid society I can really say this is probably one of the best orchid societies around. The membership is diverse and there is plenty to draw from. Peppered with members that are past AOS judge candidates, AOS judges, regular membership, senior membership.. all of which comes together to provide a wonderful group of people that is extremely knowledgeable about orchids. B there are numerous shows and meetings throughout the year this also gets you membership in the American orchid society and a listing in there members booklet. One should not be at all afraid to attend meetings for fear that one would not appear knowledgeable or educated in the lobby of orchids you'll be welcomed with open arms and a great bunch of people that will point you in the right direction and help you with your orchid needs. I highly recommend membership in this orchid society on an ongoing basis it is a wonderful once-a-month respite to your collection and certainly would augment your knowledge of them. additionally it is not expensive to be a member of an orchid society there is the monthly / yearly dues which also get you a subscription to the AOS bulletin included with your membership for what I understand. At any rate it is certainly a worthwhile hobby and group of individuals to associate with it's lots of fun and I have years of experience garnered from this group that I rely on to this day. It’s a great place to find out more about these fascinating plants. My surprise was discovering the wide diversity of types of Orchids, their flowers, growth patterns and appearances. The combined years of growing and experience (of our members) make our Society a great resource for information and problem solving.
