We adopted our guy about six months ago from the Austin Humane Society. They were extremely timely in their responses and the process took about a day. When our older German Shepherd initially showed aggression to the new puppy—even to the point where we were considering returning the puppy for its safety—they were responsive and helpful with their advice. This guy is such an amazing part of our family, loves our 3 children, and is now a perfect playmate for our older dog that I couldn’t imagine life before him!

Brought an adult cat in for adoption, he had been someone pet but got abandoned at some point. They picked him up from our car, checked him out, and accepted him to find his forever home. They took lots of great pictures of him and he got adopted pretty quickly.

Recently adopted a new puppy from this center and they are so kind and caring people. They really care and were helpful throughout the adoption. No loops to jump through to adopt an animal through them, they just want to give these animals a loving home. After we adopted our puppy they found out later one of his littermates had tested positive for Parvo, they immediately informed us and what precautions we should take. We took him to our vet once we heard the news because he was showing signs of being lethargic and unfortunately he had tested positive too. The Humane Center offered free treatment at their center to help treat him while he had Parvo. Absolutely amazing center and people. We treated him through our vet, but they asked for updates and we kept them informed. Our puppy fully recovered and is a happy, healthy puppy.

When I was first interested in adopting, they were super quick to respond - but as soon as he was with us, I found it hard to get a response. Keep in mind we did the 1 week trial with the new COVID precautions, so keeping in touch online is important for this. His file claimed he was potty trained, but he’s peed inside our house multiple times now, despite multiple daily walks and constant access to the yard. He also seems to have issues with his vision, but they told me it was now my responsibility to get it looked it. I’m glad we have our new dog, but I will not be adopting with them again.
