All nice and new and revamped. Very helpful staff and so much to see. We only looked around the ground floor, but wheelchair access excellent, and tales of Auckland had lots to look at and see. Will be going back to check out the other floors, also café staff made things easy for us as well

65 (Family of four) or FREE for Auckland Museum Members. A brilliant experience and we recommend it to all -adults were in awe of the design, time and work put into the creations. This is definitely an exhibit you need to see for yourselves to appreciate the work involved. Master 10 then wanted to explore the remainder of the museum and there is so much to see. We ran out of time to finish the whole museum so would suggest going early in the day and packing snacks or lunch so you can take your time and relax. Entry to the museum is free for Auckland Residents and a donation is welcomed for those from other regions across New Zealand.

An absolutely amazing museum which not only has war artifacts and historical items, but includes local history, Maori history, geology, a wildlife display, and interesting fossils. I especially enjoyed the WW1 and WW2 history of the Kiwis involvement in both wars, and their significant sacrifice. The two WW2 airplanes (a Supermarine Spitfire and a Japanese Zero) were welcome additions. Also, they have one of the few remaining and intact German V1 flying bombs that I have seen in the world, and I have visited a lot of Air and Space museums! We spent about 3 hours in the museum, so plan on a morning or afternoon to take it all in. It’s free if you are a resident of the Auckland area, but there is a small fee for visitors from elsewhere. There is a parking garage on-site, but you have to pay to park in the garage. There is plenty of outdoor parking lot spaces and street parking around the museum that is free.

The history of New Zealand is beautfiully housed in a fantastic old building and set in the beautiful grounds of the Domain with hot houses and spectacular views of the harbor. I love this place - we got the general admission tickets and self-guided tour. So much history and natural history. Definitely recommend it. Take a lunch and picnic in the beautiful grounds.

Enjoyed our visit. We recommend Tuitui. We had the mussels and chicken, bacon pizza. Too much for two. We'd never been before so wasn't aware of portion size. Next time we'll do two small plates or a pizza only. Great service. Lovely dining area with a long bar alternate seating or outside the cafe which is a noisy option. Limited beer and cider choice was our only, tiny, disappointment.

An absolutely beautifully maintained with a really good collection and history very clearly divided in different sections. A must go if you are in Auckland and visiting this city. It is free if you are a student. They also have a nice Cafe at the ground floor. Very helpful staff who guide you correctly into the museum.
