After blowing out head gaskets on my Gen VI 454, I decided to rebuild it as a 496. I found Mike and his crew at Auburn Auto Machine to be super helpful in the process. They offered great advice and expertise to help me through the project. The work they do is some of the best I've seen. I have since recommended them to everyone I speak to that is looking for machine work.

Mike, and his employees are the greatest. The reason his employees are great is because Mike takes care of his employees, and Mike has enough knowledge to be able to show and coach his employees through a process they may be new at. I had a DZ302 motor stolen out of my shop, and through sheer luck found it almost three years later. After i picked it up the next day i dropped it off at AAM. Then i forgot it was there and Mike never said anything, like when are we going to build your motor. He is more then a businessman, and treats his customers like best friends. There is never and pressure and Mike is honest, and his prices are good. His employees are also very friendly towards their customers and you feel like your hanging out with best friends. Mike built the 302 with a few modifications that i requested like 3/8th pushrods instead of the stock 5/16th, and 7/16th studs on the heads for the valve train instead of the stock 3/8th. Several other tasks were done and the result is a motor that i had tested and got 457hp at the rear wheels. I have over 700 miles on the motor as in Arizona i don’t drive it in the late spring to early fall because of the heat. Mike was always available to answer questions when i was installing the motor. The result is, it doesn’t burn any oil or use any. He told me how to drive it to break it in and for how many miles which i followed to the letter. I also had him do a bronco motor as well. If i ever need another motor to be built, i will pay to have it shipped to AAM from Arizona, because out of the several shops here none come close in cost, knowledge and customer service, before, during and after any work is done. They are the best of the best.

Mike and his team built my big block Ford, and I must say that I am very pleased. I explained how I intended to use my truck, and Mike gave me a couple options for the build. After much contemplation I decided to go big! Couldn’t be happier, not only with the end result, but the entire process. Mike runs an honest shop and has a great knowledgeable staff. I have no hesitation in recommending them!
