Tommy Shan and his brother are an institution in Bordeaux. They traveled to China to study each component of a dish they wanted to learn, bringing this back to their restaurant. Fresh daily ingredients, everything made in house. Like no Chinese cuisine you’ve ever had, flavor intensity is huge. Tommy is a wine guy trying all possible pairings. He’s got the wine list in his head. The way to do it is tell him what you like and let him bring you dishes and a wine(s) to pair with your meal. And such an easy-going, friendly man! My first visit I was so into the flavors of each dish I forgot to take photos. Next visit!

One of the best places to eat in Bordeaux. This is a wine-friendly Asian restaurant run by the Shan family. Tommy Shan is world-famous for his eclectic food from Sichuan to Cantonese and throughout the rest of Asia. Not cheap, but of the highest quality, we've spent many an evening eating these wonderful dishes. The atmosphere and decor are not exceptional, but the food absolutely is. One of my favorite Asian restaurants in the world.
Moved to Bordeaux about 2months ago. Tried half a dozen Chinese restaurant but by far this is the best place!
