Excellent morning out. Lovely house and gardens. Only criticism is that the ponds could do with some cleaning/tidying; there is too much green in them

Beautiful place to visit in West Dorset, Tudor originally with some add ons later. Fantastic gardens to walk through.

Wonderful house and gardens. The guide was really knowledgeable and he knew lots about the history. Covid guidelines covered and adhered to!

I visited here at a relatively unique time in its history after the recent sale of the property and the auctioning of many of its contents. This means I got a view that future visitors might not see dependent on who buys the lots. The house has been around since Tudor times and is set in some very large grounds with lovely gardens. On a cloudy day they were a pleasure to walk around so must be really ,lovely when sunlit. There are several rooms in the house varying in period with Tudor panelling and more contemporary features. The attic was being used for an art exhibition which although is decorated far more modern, seemed to work very well. The visitor centre would indicate that this is a popular place due its size and how it is run especially with the catering facilities. This was a great place to visit.It has also been used for filming in the apst as well.
