When my Dad died (07/11/2020), my family and I automatically went to the same funeral directors as we had used for my mum, 10 years ago, only to find they’d been taken over. We were worried initially, but our concerns soon melted away when we met the team. Clare has led us through the process skilfully and compassionately, and her unyielding support has been exemplary. Initially, I didn’t want to visit my dad in the chapel of rest, as I couldn’t imagine that he would look anything like himself, but after my sister visited, she convinced me that the embalming team had done an amazing job and that I should visit. I’m so glad I did. My dad looked so peaceful, as if he had simply fallen asleep. I cannot thank the team enough for this. The day before the funeral I wanted to weave roses into my dad’s casket. Clare couldn’t have been more accommodating! She was so supportive! Nothing was too much! Her empathetic nature is perfect for the job she does. Matthew led the funeral on the day and I can honestly say I felt like my dad and my family were looked after throughout. I even changed my mind on the day and decided I’d like to walk behind the hearse as my dad left our family home. Nothing was too much for the team and they switched as if it was planned! The team supported my sons and grandsons so they could carry my dad into the chapel. Their attention to detail and the time they spent with us all made it seem like we were their only clients! I highly recommend this amazing team and I thank them for their kindness.

Sadly my mum passed away in October. I cannot praise Ashdown Funeral Services enough. Nothing is too much trouble for Clare and her team. Clare introduced me to Sacha Ansell to carry out the service. Sacha, gave mum an absolutely beautiful send off. It is such a traumatic time, when you lose a loved one but if you want to make their finally journey as stress free as possible, I would certainly recommend Ashdown.

I lost a loved one in November 2020 very suddenly and unexpectedly and dreaded having to plan the funeral as I was struggling to cope with the loss, after contacting several other FD's I went with Ashdown as I felt reassurance upon speaking to Clare on the phone, her professionalism put me at ease and helped take out the stress of it all. No request was too much to ask for and the team were always in constant contact about everything. On the day Matthew and the team ensured our loved one was given the respectful service he deserved amongst this pandemic. I cannot thank Ashdown Funeral services enough, for their care and attention to detail and the professionalism displayed was like no other.
