You can reach his lighthouse by bike. It is in the middle of the great nature of the Camarque. It's also reachable by car, but then you are traveling 6 times longer and partly on feet.

Cool place for a walk. Its nothing very special. Very exciting for bird watchers .. can be pretty windy. Its a very easy path and that makes it attractive for children.

There are a lot of more beautiful lighthouses all around the mediterranean sea. Nevertheless, the trail to reach it (la digue a la mer) it's amazing. The best way to go there is by bike (13 km far from Saintes Maries de la mer). You can rent a bike in the town and then ride between sea, endless beaches, swamps, horses, sea birds... The lighthouse offers a very appreciated rest, with a small wildlife museum, free table to eat your sandwiches and a toilette (but it works with rainwater only ... so, it's closed during summer).

Good place for a trip with bike from St Marie. Bring water, no fountains on the route. At the Phare there is a volounteer with a small souvenir shop and a birdwatching station.
