The WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE I just came back from Tulum and want to share my HORRIBLE experience with Arena Blue Hotel. I came with a group of 4 other girlfriends, and we rented 3 separate rooms. The Hotel itself is Ok, nothing fancy, but what I really want to share with anyone who would put a thought into choosing this pace – DO NOT!!! BECAUSE THEY ARE THIEVES!!! On the last night of our stay all 3 rooms discovered that Cash Money is missing from Safe Boxes. All 3 safe boxes in all 3 rooms!!! No, it was not left open by us, and it was not broken, all 3 boxes were locked when we discovered that money is missing. They took total of 1,400 USD. It is so obvious that the stuff that has main key to all safe boxes came to our rooms and took the cash. They knew that our entire group left rooms, they actually told us where to go for lunch, and when we came back, we discovered the loss. Of course we called the police, but it was so pointless, the Policeman was laughing into our faces, refused to provide us with the Police Report, refused to collect finger prints, told us that we have to drive to Police Station and make a report there, and stated that he knows Management personally. We all felt that this police man is just getting his share from stolen money. The Hotel Management also refused to help, we were demanding to speak with the Owner of Hotel, and all they told us was that He is away on vacation. THIS IS CRAZY. We all felt unsafe in this place, and couldn’t wait until we can leave. IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A GOOD, SAFE and STRESS FREE stay in Tulum, DO NOT CHOOSE Arena Blue.
DO NOT STAY!!! We arrived to ArenaBlue expecting a hotel not a motel. Despite all the negative things this hotel had to offer we still stayed and TRIED to make the best out of the trip, but the hotel STILL managed to ruin our vacation. When we arrived we thought all the hotels were this style, but later to realize that our hotel was a motel! The room’s ceiling had holes in them with birds chirping non stop, we were lucky it didn’t rain. The most important thing is the hotel STOLE our money! Upon arrival they will tell you nicely place everything in the safe! You listen to them assuming they would be the last people that would take anything from the safe! Well we decided to as front desk for recommendations for lunch a day before we were suppose to leave. While we were eating lunch they opened 3 not 1 not 2, but 3 safes in 3 different rooms. So we would notice they didn’t take the whole thing they took about 35-40% from each safe. We probably would have noticed until one of us asked to borrow money for the massage that they provide on the beach. After discovering that we had missing money, we called the police. The police officer arrived, but he was useless. I asked the officer, how can someone steal from 3 rooms? Its not a coincidence. The police officer was rude and said to any question I asked, I don’t know! What kind of answer is I don’t know? Who has a key to our rooms besides us? I dont know! Who has a key to the safe with heya to our safes? I dont know! After watching the video recording I asked him whats there he said, I dont know! It was a great team play! The police and the hotel staff where on it all together. Be careful! Do not stay here!!! This is not the first review and wont be the last! Dont think this might not happen to you, we thought the same!
We have booked 3 rooms in this hotel . In the very first day we been told to keep all our documents and money in safe boxes . When one of us could not open safe box front desk assistant came to open safe box with a master key that means that they had access to all safe boxes. At the last day of vocation one of us went to get some cash to pay for massages and has find out part of the money was missing . We all went back to rooms and suprise !!!! all 3 rooms were missing money ((( Not all money but 30-40% of total amounts .They got 350 ,350 and 700 which makes total of 1400 . Police been called . But not helpfull at all . It is seems they do work together by very good known scheme . Police office did not want to provide his name , his id . Front desk represantative was very calm like if it happens all the time . No cameras next to rooms as we been told. And obvesly it was all planed . We left next morning so no time to go to police department and ect , And honestly we did not feel safe and secured . Manager of the hotel Enrico sayng that due to lock of eveidences that can not help us out .No applogies no nothing . Like who cares they wont come back anyways . Do not stay at this place !!!!! Check before booking those random places . Not safe at all
Wonderful! From the moment we arrived at Arena Blue, Monica and Julio made us feel like family. Great location on the south end of the main strip on Tulum beach, right on the water. It was within close walking distance to all the amazing restaurants and bars Tulum has to offer, without feeling like you are right in the middle of the party. Peaceful, tranquil, and convenient. The gorgeous stretch of beach in front of the hotel is meticulously cleaned each morning. Great staff! We really enjoyed the Rustic, unplugged vibe. Highly recommend. Good Pineapple Margaritas at the bar.
We visited Tulum for the first time over easter 2018. We were aware that the beaches can be covered with sea weed (this was indeed the case 3 out of 4 days) and the ocean can be quite rough due to the wind. Tulum is also located next to the jungle and, as a result, bugs and mosquitoes (and cell service) can be a concern. This is something travelers should be aware of to set expectations. It is also a nice place to go offline with beautiful nature and plenty of things to do. To the hotel... Many hotels in Tulum can be expensive but for 400USD per night we had expected more. We wanted to stay at a small boutique hotel, but were surprised that the hotel did not offer complimentary slippers, robes, and bathroom amenities. No yoga or other fitness / workout options available on site. On a positive note, we stayed in a beautiful ocean front room that was as close to the ocean as you could get. The room, however, let in plenty of noise due to the very thinly insulated palm leaf roof. During two of three afternoons/evenings there was loud music with very heavy bass blasting next to the hotel. We could literally not be in the room during this time since it was so loud... Finally, the hotel's lunch and dinner restaurant staff and food is amazing
