This is a very nice museum that will take you back in time before the reformation to the very first settlements in the city. Unfortunately it is easy to miss. The entrance is at the right side of St. Pierre's cathedral. The ticket is 8 francs. I spend there 1 1/2 hours. This museums will make you experience archeological work at first hand. Recommended!

There is not a better archaeological museum in all of Europe. If you are in Geneva and miss this museum, you’re missing the lifeline of an incredible culture.

Excellent presentation of the archaeological site, which gives a good background to the history of the cathedral and surrounding area.

Open daily 10-19:30, free to visit, tower CHF 5, archaelogical site CHF 8, free restrooms. Very impressive cathedral with first foundings of 100 b.c. This is the cell of the beginnings of Geneve city. Great panoramic view on tower and insights to the huge bells, fantastic collection of archaelogical traces in the basement, round walk only here approximately 1hour. Don't miss !

Very well-designed exhibit, with interactive screens, short films, and information panels that are color-coded by century! However, I don't believe that it's worth 8.00 CHF for an adult ticket -- if you have a Geneva Museum Pass, however, and really enjoy archeological digs, definitely check out this wealth of information.
