This police department is excellent- as I believe all PDs that I have interacted with over the years are. Specifically, I have had to call APD for a Welfare Check on my daughter twice when her phone was out and I could not reach her. The Dispatcher was great, responded professionally and the Officer immediately performed the check and called me personally to report the status. As a retired mental health professional I know very well the situations they often encounter and the difficulty of obtaining services appropriate for the mentally disturbed! I would never support such a ridiculous idea as defunding the police. They need more funds and support services for their health and especially for managing mentally disturbed citizens in the community. Thank you APD for all you do and please stay safe!! A female who answers the phones here is unprofessional, and frankly, worthless. A veterans group representative called to conduct a welfare check on an individual who was believed to be a danger to themselves. The female who answered the phone at the Aranasas Police Dept. was not only condescending, she also refused to assist the veterans group. She acted like she was about to get off the clock, or was about to go on a cigarette break and did not want to be bothered. This incident reflects poorly not only on the police department, but also on the city of Aransas Pass, as this employee represents the city and is paid by its citizens. If first responders refuse to help citizens who have sacrificed so much for our beloved country, who else will they refuse to help? So much for “Support Our Troops”.

Witnessed an officer being unruly at an event. He was instigating possible problem situations and making them much worse. Never in my life have I seen an officer on such a power trip. Sad to know the town I grew up in is in such bad hands now. Shame on the officer working the event at the civic center tonight.

Ask for Gina if you need any records. She's the professional in that office and the only one willing to help me. From one professional to another appreciated her making the situation right. Thank Gina, I appreciate you!
