I had brought several batches of Porsche hardware over for plating over the past year. usally paid for express and extra care. The last batch I got was totally the wrong color of yellow zinc. We sent back, and after a week sitting there, they told me that was all they could do, and if I wanted something else it was going to be another month to get it back. The sample I gave them was a part they did prior. The part looked terrible and more silver than yellow. Guy I talked to in production was very rude and un helpful. The people in office are nice and seem to want to help, but when you get to the guys doing the work they are terrible. Im picking up all my parts and the second order I had waiting, and not coming back.

Highly unrecommended to bring your business too. Very responsive when I first reached out, seemingly good customer service to get you on the hook. Sent in perfect parts without a scratch on them, received parts back (after paying extra for sandblasting) with dings all over them. Also received wrong color of anodizing. Fought for two weeks to even get a status update, was quoted two weeks to get back to me and instead it was 4.5 weeks. Asked for refund because I would have to not only re-anodize but also get parts remade, no reply to email for a week - pinged on the email, got a reply within a day. Was told no refund and asked again for a refund, another week no reply until I pinged and got a reply next day and still no refund - just a 'credit' for future order, but why would I come back? Overall bad experience.

Lately Apex has shown the absolute worst in commitments to time lines and quality. Aside from being weeks late on projects, they have had issues with that seem easily avoided. When calling to inquire about a time line for project completion the “we will have someone return your call” seems to go into the abyss. I would not recommend this company as an outside processor for coating precision machined parts.

The quality cant be beat in Portland. Which is why I send out when I can. Because in five years of using them they have met the agreed upon deadline only once out of countless jobs. Sometimes over a week or two behind. All that being said I still send business there way just with fair warning of inability to meet deadlines consistently if at all.
