Really enjoyed this restaurant while visiting Amsterdam. We were craving some French food and were not dissapointed. We both ordered the surprise menu, which is what the name implies, a three course surprise menu. Entree and main were both two pieces of fish or meat. All very delicious. Dessert was a scoop of ice cream in a syrup, which was sort of expected but still a little disappointing. The surprise menu was about 35, so with drinks ended up being about 90 for two people. Staff and presentation were amazing and the setting was lovely.
You can tell we’re British by the understatement. This is one of those restaurants that that has stood the test of time. We had charming, warm service. On a Monday night it wasn’t busy, but they were unobtrusively efficient. First course of grey shrimp (could have chosen a better colour) was flavors one. The main courses of venison an veal were more than acceptable. As J Rainer, (British master chef watchers will know who I mean) would say, honest food, well cooked, what more could you ask for. Well done Sluizer, hope to eat there again.
Highly recommend! lovely staff... our waitress was very very good, so good we left a huge tip for her. Food was amazing, We 3 ladies had a great night there. But the best thing was NO MUSIC! You could actually have a conversation, thoroughly enjoyed and will be back.
The food served here was the best we have ever had .If you are a seafood lover it's a must to dine here whilst you are visiting Amsterdam.We had scallop to start followed by cod .The staff have so much passion for what they are serving.Was treated to a drop of caramel and vanilla lacquer made and a little islands by a family known to the restaurant owner , was very impressed and privileged .Amazing food , would highly recommend.
