Pomorosso was founded in 2007 by two young entrepreneurs. This is their story. This is the story of Elio and Tony, a story of food, passion, and will. In 2001 Elio and Tony arrived in Amsterdam with a vision. They were driven by a strong desire for self fulfillment and a passion for cooking. They grew up in the Italian town of Angri in the vicinity of Naples and Salerno. They studied in a prestigious local school for Chefs where they both earned a diploma. Their initial training was done in a local restaurant. But they soon started to travel extensively in other regions of Italy and on their journey they learned the secrets of authentic and healthy cuisine from local chefs and from artisans who have been preparing pasta fresco and ravioli for decades. After they arrived in Amsterdam they both worked for some of the most acknowledged restaurants in town, learning how the Dutch society perceived food and dining. Elio and Tony were young but they knew what they wanted. Not even in their 30’s, armed with their natural instinct for entrepreneurship and their passion for cooking; they embarked on the business venture that is defining their lives. Today Pomorosso is a fast growing company with two restaurants in Amsterdam and a vision to expand farther. With talent and enthusiasm for good food, the staff at Pomorosso strives to provide you with an authentic dining experience. Pomorosso is where food and social life coincide!
