A very quick thank you to the team at Amersham Health Centre. You are all doing such a fanstaic job in these very testing times.

Old NHS place with a precarious elevator. Making smiles orthodontists is here which is good. Parking in the centre is hard because its mostly staff only. However there is cheap accessible parking on the road nearby

Can I say what a lovely reception I had from Janet this afternoon. She was clear and kind and efficient. I was able to get an appointment for both myself and husband to generally suit us-I just want to say how blessed we are to have such good local medical treatment that we can access easily, speedily and cost effectively.

This is an outstanding practice in every sense. I am surprised by the criticisms of the reception team as I have found them to go over and beyond what is expected of them. I have a working knowledge of clinical practice and can say without reservation that this GP practice is the best I have ever encountered.

The reception staff really let this health centre down. Calling to make an appointment they've taken on a 'gatekeeper' role when it comes to seeing the doctor. The result is no compassion or warmth to the patient, which is very concerning for vulnerable people calling up. Putting patients off seeing the doctor should not be the job and questioning people at length on the phone about their medical problem is hugely inappropriate. Really a little bedside manner/training is all it would take, or just don't do that job if you don't have a caring side!
