This place does not look grand but it is good quality, unpretentious, great value casual dining with attentive service. A great evening meal with the family. Booking for any more than a table for two is recommended, even when we visited on a Monday night out of high season.

Great restaurant with top chef and 2 miracle/super woman in the kitchen. This wondefull combination of cheffs and Ana as the hostess in the restaurant is THE best. (reservation is needed)
Can I give them 6 stars? Best meal I have had at any restaurant. Unpretentious and cozy. I Loved watching Chef Joao prepare dishes at the front while enjoying our delicious salad and wine. Our party of 4 thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Thank you for an amazing experience.

Excellent restaurant and authentic Portuguese. Food and hospitality excellent. Chef cooks marvellous food on barbecue. Ana who greets and serves is also excellent. Will definitely go back when In Alvor next.
Lovely grilled fish at very reasonable prices plus bottle of house wine for 7. Not many seats and they don’t take credit cards - cash only.
One of the most enjoyable evenings in our holidays. We had luck to find a place without reservation. The welcome was warm and friendly and the food was delicious - also the fish and also the meat and the dessert. Once there you have the feeling the people are not doing their job but living their passion.
Chef Joao is a great traditional Portuguese chef, and Ana the waitress is so sorridente and friendly.... A \Must\ in Alvor
