My husband and I have been living here for more than a year and a half. We moved from Missouri and this has been a great place for someone who's new to Austin because of the location. It's near downtown. Easy access to I-35, and 290. Bus line 20 on Riverside is just straight to the airport. I have seen improvements over the year and I have to credit it to Daniela Cazares for her management. With Daniela, you're in good hands. Daniela has always been quick to respond via email. She'll go the extra mile to take care of the problem. The important information and updates have been communicated via emails. The only downside I have about this is the laundry room. On every visit, at least multiple equipments are out of service. The laundry seems to be maintained by a third party and residents are expected to report the problem. I have reported a couple of times and I don't like to report because it's taking too much of my time. I think that's why problems go unreported because the reporting is lengthy and we can just use whatever is available. I usually do my laundry during the week at odd hours, when it's mostly available. The price and the location makes up for it.

There are good people working in the Avesta Altura office and they care about their tenants, but unfortunately, the apartments themselves are not in great condition. I have never written a bad review, but I felt the need to let people know what we experienced. We lived here for 2 years and here are a few things we dealt with: 1. Our air conditioning regularly leaked. We had them repair it 3-4 times and were concerned about mold, but they told us that everything was fine. Then one day it leaked through our ceiling and bust through the paint. It took them 2 days to come look at it and during this time we could not use our air conditioning. Then they tore out the damaged dry wall and left it for 2 weeks. I was concerned that there was mold growing on the support beams and they continued to ignore my request, so I got a mold testing kit from Home Depot and swabbed the support beam. They then finally tested it and said \there was not enough moisture to indicate mold\. 2. When Avesta first took over the complex they had to do extensive water pipe renovations and informed us that they needed to shut off the water Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 10:00am-3:00pm for 3 months. My boyfriend works from home so this was especially problematic for him. We asked if there was anything they could do to compensate us for this and they said that it fell under egular repairs\ and that there was nothing they could do for us. (future tenants will not have to deal with this problem) 3. Our kitchen light had some electrical issues and would only work 50% of the time. It took them 4 months to fix this. It is quite difficult to cook in your kitchen in the dark. 4. laundry machines worked about 50% of the time.
I loved living here. The price is well worth it and the area is amazing. The staff is great and work orders got done within the same day! Daniela and everyone at Altura have always been extra helpful!
I've lived here for almost 2 years and waited until now to review, but this is a well deserved 5 stars. It's not that my stay here has been completely without issue, it's that management is always there to help when issues arise especially Diego Alvarado who helped me since the being choosing my apartment until now making sure everything is great, Also Daniela Cazares have gone the extra mile to help me waving my late fees to COVID 19, they both make this a 5 star apartment complex. The location is also great, obviously, apartment is very comfortable and I feel very safe living here.
From leaks in the wall to lights falling out of the celling this place has become unmanageable. And when maintenance does come this place is left in a bigger mess. After the 5 times maintenance had entered my apartment in my first month, I thought they would be more proactive in fixing issues. Instead of letting it sit for days.
