You can tell the owners' really care about food. Our meals were amazing. I highly recommend the tandoori halibut. We also stayed at the Bayside Inn and the room was very nice, clean, and nicely renovated. One of the more comfortable beds I have slept in and the ocean view was beautiful.

Great food in a small cafe. The place is run by a cute couple from India. The husband patiently takes ordered and waits tables while the wife works the kitchen. We ordered the tandoori fish, fish curry, and butter chicken. All were delicious. They also have some standard diner fare that the other guests were enjoying. If you are in Alert Bay you should stop by.

It was hot so we ordered a milkshake. Their version of a milkshake was just milk with that strawberry milk on it. It was warm. The onion rings were covered in stale corn chips it seems like. Not the best dining experience Ive ever had. The only edible thing was the overcooked Over Salted chicken wings. The sauce came on the side so we just covered em after wiping the salt off with our napkins. That seemed to make them edible.

The tandoori chicken is misrepresented. It’s not the usual dish by definition baked in a tandoori oven but done with a tandoori spice in a massala sauce. So its no different from their butter chicken and not the unsauced alternative promised. Bad service too. We were the first couple in but the fifth served as our order was given another couple. Two ladies behind us left because of the delay in having their order taken. So the misrepresented dish on top of the 45 minute delay did not make for a pleasant dinner out. When questioned after tHe owner insisted he can call his dishes anything he wants. When i disputed that he threw me out. Still, the food tasted good so take your chances.

Food was delicious and it came quite quickly. Prices were low, despite the location being so isolated.

What a gem. In addition to a typical small town menu choices there are some excelant India inspired dishes available. We enjoyed the tandoori style chicken and halibut dishes.
