A fresh October day in Aldeburgh and the high street was very busy. We join e the queue for fish and chips at 12:15. Finally at 13:20 we made it in to order. I appreciate the demand and restrictions play a part in this but my expectations were high (and previously me). If I'm brutally honest the fish I had was very small and nothing special. I've had infinitely better on previous visits. The sausages were traditional chip shop sausages and were well received. This one visit would not deter me from a return as I've said already this is usually exceptional.

If you happen to be lucky enough to visit Aldeburgh, top of your list should be Aldeburgh Fish and Chip shop. I am no expert on fish and chips, but there ones are really good. I think the fact that there is always a queue is an indication that I'm not alone in this thinking. The chips are golden brown and wonderfully crisp on the outside and pillowesque fluffy on the inside. The fish was delicious and moist and covered again in golden brown crispy goodness!
We have visited Aldeburgh twice and both times we have had the fish and chips here. There is always a queue but its well worth the wait. Delicious fish and chips which can be enjoyed on the beach or in the pub next door (when you buy a drink there). Definitely worth a visit if you are in Aldeburgh.
Wow this has got to be the best fish and chips I've ever had. Great price too. We waited for one hour in the queue so I knew it was going to be good. Well worth the wait. Delicious
Really wanted to love this place after reading the reviews... sadly the fish and chips we received were disappointing. Everything was quite soggy and the portions were small for the price. The fish also had bones in it. Not sure if we just visited on a bad day but I've had much better in many other chippies in the UK
