My wife particularly wanted to try schweinshaxe and this was the only restaurant nearby, short of heading to Bavaria, that we could find that served it. It was The was very good and beautifully presented. The weissbier, which is brewed on the premises, was also excellent. Vegetarian or fish options are, however, lacking. A cheese pasta was the only thing on offer for my daughter & I which was rather bland and a disappointment. The welcome & service was good however.

Maybe the best Brewer in town. Well this is \the\ only one. Even though you can drink a lot of different/good/better beer brands in other places, this one is made right here (not all of them always available). So you will see the tanks and lots of information about the process and how to make beer. It is a very busy restaurant after office and weekends, so waiters have little to no time to talk about the place or maybe you have more luck than I or go when there is no more people. The prices are reasonable and the food is very traditional German: Maultaschen, Kässpätzle or Schwabenschnitzel are the best. Off course you'll find also meat and sausages. Sorry no more than salads for Vegans. There is also a shop where you can find glasses (go for the Maß) t-shirts and off course beer in unlimited amount (preview purchase required).
That Outstanding Beer Batter Schnitzel - Done Our first meal in Albstadt & we decided to try a local brewhouse Set in the quaint town of Albstadt - which will be my on & off home for the next 3 months, this beer brewery is large & easily one of the popular restaurants in the village @beingbengt had eaten here before so he warned me about their portion sizes - not big....HUUUUUGE! So we just ordered 1 main course between us Think of perfectly breaded pork that's deep fried to perfection Served usually with Swabian spätzle which is a fresh pasta that is very popular in this part of the world. I asked for some french fries &they eagerly agreed This huge portion of food came with a deceptively small looking salad...which ended up being a bottomless bowl of really Yummy salad made up of assorted lettuce, cucumbers , grated carrots &grated horseradish drizzled with a fantastic vinaigrette dressing You must must try this restaurant and especially this dish if in Germany . We went back several times and the sausage is just the best we have eaten in Albstadt but the service is extremely slow so be ready to wait for close to an hour to get your food.
Medium taste well brewed local beer. Dishes are delicious, big and serviced well. Prices are reasonable, worth to pay meals and beer. Atmosphere is very well. Old Bahnhof turned to good Bräuhausgasse.
Very big dishes, nice and pleasant staff, have menu in English, good beer options, good atmosphere. The restaurant has interesting interior and also big free parking in front of restaurant.
