Been coming to whitby for years so remember the building when it was craft stalls inside the old church. Loved what they did to the building and enjoyed the museum. HOWEVER, on our 3rd visit to Albert's on Sunday which wasn't busy, we were left feeling very disappointed. Staff fussed over a table that seemed to be ordering everything. Another couple on a second table ordered tea. My boyfriend and myself ordered a cream tea, 2 scones, no butter, one pot of tea that didn't fill 2 cups. We were served the cream tea and then ignored for the rest of the visit, we wanted another pot of tea but nobody came to ask if everything was OK or even wanted anything else. After being forgotten and ignored we paid and left, as did the other couple who were also forgotten in the other corner. Sad to say we won't be back now. Shouldn't matter how big or small the order, all customers should be treated the same, weather it's just a tea order or a table having a 3 course dinner.

The waiter was extremely pleasant and competent and our lunch ( scampi and chips and crab omelette) was very good and well priced .

Stumbled on this by chance on a wet and windy bank holiday Sunday. Good food, and hot cup of tea. Lovely historical dining room.

We wouldn't have realised Albert's Eatery was behind the museum if it wasn't for a recommendation from Hammond's but we are pleased we found it. Lovely food and generous portions at a good price and great service too

Friendly staff and tasty food, nice environment (clean and fairly well spaced out). Only negative is that staff including chefs weren't wearing masks or ppe
