Aka Sushi House

This place is really good, went by myself one evening and the vibes are nice, chill. Loved the atmosphere. Staff was friendly and the sushi rolls were good quality too. The pricing was good too. I recommend this place because of the food quality. They have happy hour for those who like grabbing a drink. Can't complain about anything. Everything went smoothly I am definitely going to be back soon!

I am moving out of Houston soon, and Aka Sushi is the single restaurant I will miss the most. Incredibly fresh, high-quality sushi (even the Uni, which is hit or miss at most places). Service is among the best in the industry, and everyone there is so friendly and helpful. Parking is usually not an issue, but it can get crowded at times, as is the case for most restaurants in the area. I wish I could give Aka more than 5 stars. Do not miss out on this gem if you are in the area!

They have a Corona Special-- longer happy hours. With a huge menu, (especially vast happy hour menu). Enjoyable restaurant.

This was 2nd experience with sushi and Japanese food and it was better than the first one! I went to this restaurant after receiving recommendations from friends. I visited during lunch time and tried their lunch special. They menu is elaborate and for an novice like me, it can get confusing - Google does help and so do the staff, they are very friendly and accommodating. The lunch special comes with salad - their creamy Ginger sause is worth a try. The server was generous and he gave us tofu and seaweek soup - it was tasty, refreshing and healthy. We tried the three roll selection for main course. The crunchy, crazy and Cajun. Though they weren't the classic sushis but they were good for me as I am still developing taste for Japanese food. I personally liked the crazy but the crunchy was good too as it comes with crunchy shrimp tempura. The crazy had a very classic seafood taste from tuna, shrimp tempura and the spicy mayo neutralizes the fishy taste. One 3 rolls order can be easily shared between two people as you can get full easily. We did try their shrimp tempura - I am always amazed by their shrimp not curling and the settings at which it is cooked! Definitely recommend trying. The spicy thick noodles with chicken were good too, you can adjust your spice levels according to your taste. Overall I had a very good experience, I am glad that I visited this restaurant as I got a very good introduction to Japanese food. It gets busy in the afternoon and with he covid restrictions, I recommend reservation if they allow.
