Good for kids
I've been wanting to come here for so long and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing and generous portions, the staff were friendly. Such good value too. Can't wait to come back :-)

Just driving past at 9.30pm when we saw a line of people ordering food. We got curious so we joined the queue. No wonder even though it was late they were happy to wait. Food was so yummy.
Absolutely iconic. Everyone loves the Afghan restaurant and for good reason. Nothing more to say about it really, amazing food for a great price. Don't go there expecting a wide variety of dishes, and there are no menus it's the same foods each time (rice, curry, amazing skewers of lamb and chicken, spicy salad). I hope this place never changes and I wish I could go there every week!

This place is one of the legends of Christchurch food. Up there with dimitris in terms of quality, but with the added excitement of opening whenever the owners like and with no menu option, you just say how many people and they make you the meal appropriate for that number of people. A spicy salad, some amazing rice(and i normally think rice is pointless) chicken and lamb skewers, and a chicken curry. All for 20 dollars a head. Can not recommend enough. A out of ten. Both for eat in or takeaway.
Food is good but no timing. You never know when he going to open, so its kind of lotto. Lol But yes definitely try it.
Lovely food. Tasty and super big size. One of the best value for money foods in Christchurch. I can enjoy 1 portion together with my wife TWICE.
Excellent service, the owner/s were really accommodating and friendly. Food was top notch! Huge portion sizing all only for 20! Best Mediterranean restaurant ive tried in Chch by far! No wonder they get really busy and full (dine-in) during peak times regardless if it was a weekend or a weekday.
