I found Acer gundog training online, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. The course is a combination of weekly classes which are excellent but the real added value is the video course which helps to remember the tricks you may have forgotten, and also means if you miss a week its easy to catch up. Mark is very good, matter of fact and responsive to queries. The training is totally reward based without any aversion, which I think is really important. My lab was about 5 months old when she started and has come on leaps and bounds in the 6 week puppy course. I would recommend without hesitation.

Wonderful trainers, we have had a great time learning how to teach our puppy focus, steadiness and obedience. Mel and Mark have both been fab, always gentle and positive, no force or punishment advised (which some places still use!!) If one method isn't working so well for you or the dog, other methods are suggested.
My partner and I have been taking our dog, Riley here for about 6 months. When we first started we were at our wit's end as he was such a 'puller'. On our first training day, I was hobbling along with a torn cartilage in my knee where Riley had jumped on me ,and my partner had his arm in a sling having sprained his wrist when he got pulled over when Riley took off after a cat! We were a couple of crocks with a very bouncy dog! I had explained our 'dilemma ' on the phone to Mark and he couldn't have been more helpful or friendly and reassured us that we could still do the training and that they would look out for us. Our trainer Mel was, and continues to be, an absolute star, always encouraging us and always patient and with a great sense of humour. I was so nervous at first but Mel puts everyone at ease and will give advice on any problems anyone is having. I can't recommend Acer highly enough and a big Thank You to Mel for everything.
We are in the beginner foundation course, which is also supported by a really helpful online training course. This has enabled my whole family to get onboard with the training, but will also prove really helpful during lockdown. Thanks for all the support and clear instructions. We can already see progress!
Really pleased that we chose Acer Gundog training for our Springer Spaniel Gordi. I knew the basics but I have learnt a huge amount more already. Within 4 weeks only of puppy training class, the online course and homework our 6 month puppy is so switched on and improving in leaps and bounds. Mark, our trainer at Acer, is so knowledgeable about specific breeds and adapts to different dogs, and very patient with the owners! I can't wait to continue onto the more advanced classes with Gordi.
