I actually came here because I heard Maroon 5 were playing, but it turned out to be untrue. I stayed for the beans on toast. As good as I’ve had by my Nan! Sad about Maroon 5 tho.

Good food, calm place
The table service has improved. However a disabled person spilled their drink and staff seemed put out clearing it up. Would have been better if he had made a gesture and replaced the drink and cleaned up with a smile. The poor lady and her carer left from embarrassment. Also, the chairs and tables are designed to inhibit you from sitting and standing up. That's why people got to the cafe opposite.
Abbey cafe is the best cafe in the whole of Essex. would not go any where else. The staff and owner are top class and plenty of choices on the menu, does the best coffee too.
