I have been visiting this bookshop for over fifteen years. I have always found Mr and Mrs Cummings extremely helpful. Admittedly their eyes light up when I enter the shop (usually with friends) since I buy a lot of expensive books and have never left without making a purchase. Not only are their books usually in very good condition, they are extraordinarily reasonably priced. if you buy, as I have to my regret, books elsewhere in Lewes you will usually find the same copy in better condition and at half the price at Cummings. It is the best second-hand and antiquarian bookshop I have ever known, and I have known quite a few.

There are very few bookshops like this one; I have never yet been able to leave empty handed! For a lover of antiquarian books this shop is as good as it gets!
There are not many second-hand bookshops of this quality left in the country now. Always a pleasure to visit, even in the unlikely event that I walk out empty-handed. Long may they continue.
Terrible customer service. Frankly the staff were unhelpful, were cold and uncaring without attempting to look for the resisted author. There was no excuse as there was no other customers in the store. Not engaging with customers. Strange given the competition in lewes
