Amazing old Chateau Monsegur, fortress walls remain but the chateau is a ruin. Steeped in medieval history of Cathars and knights. Park on D9 and hike the very steep route 170m elevation to the top (cost 5.50 adult). Worth the tough hike for the views and solitude (out of season). Ticket also includes the museum in the village. Worth a visit also, much history and archeological finds so give yourself time for the museum.

A cosy restaurant with nice food and excellent service. Just had a great meal there. Allow me to thank the friendly owner there and we enjoyed everything but I was too occupied when I checked that I didn’t thank him properly.
Great food, cheerful and helpful owner and staff, all in a beautiful village full of character. Great stop after the long haul up and down the climb to Montsegur castle.
Good food and nice terrace to have lunch
The most fabulous creme brulee, best ever.
Loved it indeed. Great food and warm and happy staff.
Excellent
We have eaten at this lovely restaurant many times. We love the welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The service is always second to none and the food is just fabulous. We would highly recommend A La Palate Qui Fume to anyone who visits Montsegur, the owners Andy and Steph always go out of their way to make sure your visit is one not to forget.
