My wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in Uptown Dallas last week. We had never heard of Malai Kitchen. After reading a number of positive reviews, we walked to the restaurant early on a Friday. We were seated immediately and requested outside, which was granted. Masks were worn by the staff and customers who were not seated. We felt safe outside and the tables were spaced far enough apart for us to remain that way. The food was absolutely delicious. My wife and I tried 4 restaurants while we were in Dallas that we’ve never tried. This was my favorite. They bring a simple sticky rice dish wrapped in a banana leaf for every table. It was new to us but it was interesting. We then had the shrimp spring rolls, which were fine. The main course is what made it for me. I had the drunken noodles which were great. The dish is made with steak, which appeared to me to be a ribeye or some other tender cut, which was then sliced and/or diced into small pieces. Overall the food was delicious. I can’t imagine going wrong with drunken noodles or the pad that.

Absolutely loved the food here! We sat outside on the patio and service was excellent. I had the peach ginger detox iced tea and as an iced tea fanatic, it was one of my top favorite tea drinks. We had the Thai tacos with pork for an appetizer. They were delicious with a crispy wonton shell. For dinner we had chicken pad Thai and the drunken noodles with beef. Both dishes were amazing, wish I lived in the area because this would a great place to get takeout too. Highly recommend this restaurant in Uptown, a perfect area to walk around and have dinner.

The service is nice, the menu has many Asian-inspired options and the beer is really good. They have IPAs, dark beers and unique flavors that you don’t normally see for brews. The food was flavorful

The service is nice, the menu has many Asian-inspired options and the beer is really good. The beer flight was my favorite part. They have IPAs, dark beers and unique flavors that you don’t normally see for brews. The food was flavorful, but kinda basic. The chicken is way better than the shrimp when you order rice or noodles.

Superb! The Thai tacos with Shrimp is quite unique since they use crispy wonton for the shell, so think of it as crispy as doritos shell from Taco Bells, and it enhances the taco's filling. The blackened shrimp is flavorful with every bite and the bean sprouts with other greens make it a complete package. The sticky rice with eggplant dipping makes a perfect appetizer to wake up your taste buds.
