Great experience! This place was a little hard to find, especially since neither my husband nor I speak/read Japanese at all, but it was so worth it. It’s a small restaurant that seems to only be run by the chef and his wife. He welcomed us into his restaurant and after some fumbling with google translate we discovered he was asking us how much we wanted to spend, so we said about 60000 yen per person. He then proceeded to create a set dinner for us and explained what each dish was with what English he knew. The rest of the restaurant was empty so it was like having a personal chef. He tried very hard to connect with us by referencing American athletes and showing us pictures of his daughters on his phone. My husband and I left feeling full, happy, and satisfied. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Japanese food with a homey feel. *i did not photograph every course. I kept forgetting because I wanted to eat them so bad*

My first time trying Kyoto cuisine and I find the dishes interesting particularly the Yuzu daikon. It was so delicious.
休日のランチ懐石コースを楽しみました。料理も美味しく日本酒も大将のこだわりの品揃えがあり、美味しく楽しい時間を過ごせました。祇園という場所を考えればコスパ高いですよ！一休を見ての来店客が多いので予約必須です。ご馳走さまでした。
美味しいお料理と楽しい会話で、あっという間に時間が過ぎていきます。どれも丁寧なお出汁と食材の組み合わせ、包丁の入り方や火加減が素晴らしい。お土産までいただいて、驚くようなコストパフォーマンスです。オススメ。
大満足でした。 写真の舞妓さんは撮っていい、了承を頂きました。 湯葉は、どれも同じと思ってましたがこちらのは初めて頂きました。 ありきたりじゃないですょ〜_ あと、本当に餡子。羊羹。怖い私と娘でしたが、ブランデー入りの羊羹は寒天っぽくなく初めての食感『もっちり』してて初めての洋風な羊羹でした。上手く言えませんが、マロングラッセのイメージです。 大将も女将も気さくな方で私達は、大満足でした。
一休で事前予約。祇園の中心にあり解りやすい。ランチのコース。茶碗蒸しが抜群に美味しい。天ぷら等何を食べても美味。最後はちりめんじゃこご飯と赤だし味噌汁。凄く美味しくてちりめんじゃこはお土産に購入しました。
大将もおかみさんもきさくに声をかけてくださり、京都のお店という敷居の高さを感じさせないすてきなお店でした。お料理ももちろんよかったです。ごはんのうえのちりめんがたっぷりあってこれにはびっくり。ごはんがいくらでもたべれそうです。
娘と二人の京都旅行、地の利も何も無く検索で予約をしてこちらに伺いました。 結果、大大大正解！！！ 素材を大切に、料理を愛するおもてなしの心が伝わって来るお店でした。 鱧の湯引きや鱧と松茸の土瓶蒸し、子持ち鮎もこの時期しかいただけない物でとても美味しかったです。茶碗蒸しは3層に味が違っていて、その手の込みっぷりには驚きました！！ コスパが最高です！ 雰囲気もとても温かく居心地が良かったです。 お陰様で素敵な旅になりました！感謝。
