This place is a joke, its an OLD complex and halls are cold and not clean. This place is OVERPRICED! Ive had ants since day 1 and even though they came out to spray, they are still present. The carpet isn't installed properly and the second bedroom is cold and you can see the ground. I had a rodent in dryer and my clothes smelled like mildew. My closet door fell because it was not installed properly. Not to mention the directory took them 2 months to update, which I called 4 times.. I was locked out of my place then they decided to update the directory. I had to keep running to the door to open it when someone comes over. They charged me 50 to unlock my door, which I would have not been locked out if the directory was updated. I will definitely be leaving this place! My lease started in December, normally leases are for 12 months, yet they told me I had to sign my lease for 13 months because leases don’t end in December. WTH? This was never told me until I actually signed the lease. I’ve had to call the police SEVERAL times due to continuous and VERY disturbing domestic violence and it has been reported each time and nothing has been done. You can hear EVERYTHING through the walls including others urinating.. DISGUSTING

My mother and I rented here. She was sick for a whole year from the soot coming through the vents. Once she moved and we took a closer look around the vents and walls in the brick wall building where you can control your own heating and cooling. Her very expensive furs were ruined and even clothing from the vents in the closets. Even the food in the fridge was bothered by this soot. They never clean the vents. That’s really bad for someone with breathing problems. As well as they didn’t even give her the full security deposit back which was only 300 because they accused her of burning real candles and my mother has bad bronchitis she has fake candles. They said they needed to use the money they kept to paint the apartment. My mother didn’t care about the little money but it isn’t right that they blamed her. As well as she was having so many health issues and didn’t realize it was from that. She should have sued from my opinion. But don’t move here, it’s too expensive for the low quality of amenities, and attitudes you receive even if you pay your rent on time.

If there's ever a chance you may need to break your lease, DON'T choose Sherwood Lake. They make zero exceptions, but will tell you that you can go on a payment plan to pay what you owe. They told us they would mail us instructions on how to set that up right after we moved, but we NEVER received anything. 4 months later I receive a call from a collections agency saying if it's not paid in full within a week it will ruin our credit. So much for a payment plan, they give it to collections immediately after you break the lease. I should also mention there were not one, but two dangerous fires that took place in our building due to poor judgment on other renter's part. The second time, my boyfriend took matters into his own hands and put the fire out before the firefighters arrived. They told us if he had not acted when he did, the place would have suffered a LOT of damage. We never received a thank you of any kind from Sherwood for saving them thousands of dollars in repairs. Instead they treat us like just another paycheck and put us in an almost horrible position of ruining our credit. So disappointing overall, rent elsewhere or buy if you can. The units are waaaaaay overpriced for what you get as it is.

I’ve been a resident at Sherwood Lake for nearly 3 years. I have to relocate due to a new position. With 2 months remaining in my lease, I reached out to see if they could work with me due to the fact I will have to pay rent at both locations for 2 months. (Payment plan) Absolutely not. They have no compassion or empathy and said it was corporate and not them. When it comes to money; they are nonnegotiable. I resent businesses that lack empathy. So if you move here and have to suddenly relocate or buy a house please be mindful that you will have to pay out your lease. I’m sure if I move sooner; they will have someone in the unit I paid rent for within weeks! Screen door doesn’t lock, garbage disposal had my entire kitchen foul, until I requested someone look at it and it was replaced. The units look nothing like the model, so make sure you see your actual unit before renting. Maintenance is timely. Quiet community.

Had a fine time living there, but now that I've moved out they are keeping my security deposit over some BS. They claim that because of a few spots on the carpet by the kitchen (that were there when I moved in) they need to re-carpet the entire apartment. This place is run by snakes and liars. Do yourself a favor and live somewhere else.
