Their sound is mixed up with bits of classic hard rock and speed metal of the 70’s and 80’s with an occasional doomy and psychedelic infusion. The band has triumphed in several Latvian band competitions (Fontaine Palace’s „Flashlight” in Liepaja, Rock N Riga’s „Garage Duel”, Valmiera’s „Stage Number 1”), awarded as the best new band of 2011 in Latvian Metal Music Awards. In 2010 released their debut album „Make A Mess”, and late 2012 follows their second studio album „Destructive Chaos”. The lyrical themes are based around views on life of today’s society, and also more philosophical and existential topics. In five years Rebel Riot have played many shows in Latvia, also in Lithuania, Estonia and Finland. One of their most notable concerts was held in November of 2012 in Riga, opening a show for German heavy metal pioneers ACCEPT. This year they are promoting their recently released album „Destructive Chaos” in open-air festivals and clubs across Latvia and abroad. Also new musical material is being worked on for the next studio album.
