Comedy Latvia is a group of comedians from Latvia and around the Baltics who are dedicated to growing the artform of stand up comedy in both Latvian and English languages. It started in 2012 when Louis Zezeran and the crew from Comedy Estonia started to present English comedy nights in Riga under the name “Comedy Baltics”. Around the same time Dana Jurkjāne, Edgars Bāliņš, Edgars Berkmanis, Deniss Lugovskojs and Rūdolfs Packēvičs started to make their first shows around Riga and the two groups helped each other and became fast friends due to their shared goal of developing a real stand up scene in Latvia. At the end of 2013 they decided to formally join together under the banner “Comedy Latvia” with the interest in stand up now growing at a huge rate. We also organise regular open mic nights to showcase new talent and grow our team of supporters. Comedy Latvia have also presented International stars like Dylan Moran, Eddie Izzard and Bill Bailey in Riga. They run a bi-monthly English comedy night at Nabaklab and multiple shows per month in Riga and other cities in Latvian.
