Metsäkartano is a Youth Center, but you can come and rent rooms, house or camp. Its focus is the nature hence why it’s in the middle of nowhere. There are activities like climbing, cycling, canoeing and games in the gym hall. You can also do stone cutting, paint t shirts, clay work etc. many school groups come and stay a few days. Also youth workers come with their clients. The days can be filled with activities. The goal is to be one with nature. Some events happen throughout the year. Hunters like to visit for a break, too. Every house has a sauna and there is also a big beach sauna building and another smaller one. The restaurant staff are very friendly and try to grant you wishes. The downside is you need to come with a group or have a car as there is no public transport.

It was nice place to spend a wedding in! Food was 4/5 and so was service. Location looks beautiful yet it was quite far from everything.
Very clean and quiet. You are surrounded by the forest. The point is that it is pretty far from the city and there is no public transportation. You would need a car or a taxi to move around.

Remote and not really on the way from anywhere to anywhere. The main customers of this youth center are obviously school kids, but they are also open year round for anyone interested in staying there, eating or hiking in the natural surroundings. The food is very good and local, the kitchen can produce fancy meals for special menus but most days you will find tasty traditional and filling food on the menu. If you're just planning to drop by you should call to make sure they're open and are available to drop ins. The only negative is the condition of the many formerly beautiful nature trails around Metsäkartano, due to heavy logging in the area and lack of funding to the nature services of the area many of the trails are nothing more than a vague path through a logging clearing. During winter this is a good place to stop for coffee and a donut on your snowmobile trip on the well maintained tracks.
