Kind host, awesome food and wine. Atmosphere could use some work but in the middle of COVID you felt comfortable and save within the layout and approach taken.

The main courses are amazing and fairly priced. However the couvert is a little overpriced. 6,6 for this \cheese board with nuts and honey\?? There were only 2 types of cheese (4 slim slices each) and 4 half nuts. And also 1,80 for 2 rolls of bread? Too much for me....

Had creamed cod and it was lovely. Great place too away from the street. And lovely staff

I had bacalhau a couple of times, but the bacalhau at Casa Amarela surprised me. The fish was deep-fried before baked in the oven, which added a nice touch/browning to the mashed potato and this rich cream sauce on top of the fish - made it a really sinful but satisfying dish. The vegetarian Bolognese was well-flavored but the noodle was not up to expectation (too soft imo). We also received excellent service here.

Overall - excellent service, astounding food, lovely atmosphere and staff. The menu is in Portuguese and English, and I would personally recommend the pork cheeks in a red wine reduction. If I could give 6 stars, this restaurant would get it. Service excellent - fast, but still allow you time to choose and relax Starters and appetisers - bread was served with olives and feta, great combo, codfish croquettes melted in your mouth. Mains - had grilled salmon, which was cooked perfectly, and the pork cheeks, which were sublimely tender, and had a mash and vegetables that were a lovely compliment to the pork. Dessert - chocolate mousse rich with flavour, traditional Portuguese tart with squash and almond was very nice, pineapple mousse extremely light, and a great palette cleanser.
