I went along to an intro session at the Linwood club on a thursday about 6 months ago. Near the beginning of the evening the black belt instructor demonstrated a wrist lock/ submission hold on me. He described it as "like slamming a drink onto a bar". Stupid me I allowed him to do this. The following day I realised I had a problem and 1 ACC claim later... I don't know if it's a torn ligament to my thumb or a scaphoid break maybe but it's pretty inconvenient to say the least. So I don't know if I could recommend this club. Certainly the techniques are effective especially when some unsuspecting person stands there and allows you to perform them.
