We had some coffee and cake. The cake was really good! But the service was terrible, she servant was angry and stressed and just kept saying how busy it is and that she was tiered... It was not busy at all. If you come and want enjoy you weekend and relax you don't want to hear someone complain every minute. So sad..

I didn't like the shower and the room was plain but the grounds and wildlife are super deluxe. Traditional old school service....really good. I will stay here again. The breakfast does not have a lot of choice but everything is delicious.
Great food in a very elegant historical castle.
A great discovery, timed as back as 1671 this hotel has quite a history behind it. Located in a wonderful scenic place just outside Appingedam i stayed there there for just one night. Room was very clean, spacious and the bathroom was alot better than expected. Had a little trouble with the bed but am guessing this was just me trying to get used to somewhere else other than my bed. Staff was really friendly, breakfast quite filling and lunch was very good. I was also amazed to see that it is well reccomended by Michellin stars. There is a huge forest behind the hotel where you can easily walk and enjoy the view.
From the moment I entered, I were treated like royalty. The staff were fantastic with a smile and the service was impeccable. Third time staying here and would recommend again and again. Staff really prepared to go the extra mile for the guest.
Very wonderful estate with many possibilities for great food and walking in the nature. The neighborhood is quiet because you don't end up there by accident.
